Terms of Use

Kanjily: Learn Japanese & JLPT · Effective October 19, 2026

These terms apply to your use of Kanjily, an Android app published by TNPixel ("we", "us"). By installing or using Kanjily you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how data is handled.

Safety

Learning content and estimates

Kanjily is a study aid. Dictionary entries come from community sources and may contain errors; furigana, readings, pitch accent, word segmentation and level labels (N5 to N1) are generated or compiled automatically and may be wrong. They are not official JLPT information. Practice exams, including the JFT-Basic style test, are unofficial and score estimates are only a guide. Machine-translated text, when shown, is labelled and may be inaccurate. Menu and allergy information is a reading aid, not medical advice: always ask the restaurant.

Your data and content

Your cards, progress and notes are stored on your device. You are responsible for backing them up (Kanjily offers an optional backup file that you save yourself). Uninstalling the app or clearing its data deletes them from the phone. You are responsible for the images and texts you open in the reader and for having the right to use them.

Premium and subscriptions

Free users see ads. Premium (monthly, 3 months, 6 months, yearly or lifetime) removes ads and unlocks extra features. Payment is charged to your Google account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; you can manage or cancel them in Google Play. Lifetime is a one-time purchase. Refunds follow Google Play's policies.

Acceptable use

Do not copy, reverse engineer or resell the app, do not use it unlawfully, and do not interfere with its operation or with the services it relies on. The dictionary data is licensed separately: see Data & licences, where you may also download our converted dictionary.

No warranty and limit of liability

Kanjily is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for loss or indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of Kanjily, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for it in the 12 months before the claim.

Changes and termination

We may update the app and these terms. Material changes will be noted in the app or on its Google Play page. Continued use means you accept the updated terms. You can stop using Kanjily at any time by uninstalling it.
